Sean Spicer freaks out at reporter for texting him, threatens to report him to authorities

Sean Spicer, the former White House press secretary, told a reporter for the news website Axios to stop texting and emailing him.

Sean Spicer has spent the past several weeks since he stepped down as White House press secretary "having some fun," but things turned sour Thursday when the longtime political operative told a DC journalist to stop texting him or else he'd notify the "appropriate authorities."

Mike Allen, the political journalist who cofounded the news website Axios after working at Politico, reported on Thursday that Spicer had "filled notebook after notebook" with notes during his time at the Republican National Committee, on the Trump campaign, and in the White House.

But Allen said that when he texted Spicer for a comment about his note-taking habits, Spicer responded, "Mike, please stop texting/emailing me unsolicited anymore."

Allen, who said he had known Spicer for more than a decade, said he replied with a "?" and Spicer then wrote: "Not sure what that means. From a legal standpoint I want to be clear: Do not email or text me again. Should you do again I will report to the appropriate authorities."

An hour later, Allen said, Spicer responded to an email the reporter had sent earlier:

"Per my text:

"Please refrain from sending me unsolicited texts and emails

"Should you not do so I will contact the appropriate legal authorities to address your harassment

"Thanks

The Washington Post reported earlier this month that Spicer would be among six current and former White House aides whom the special counsel Robert Mueller planned to question as part of his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Jennifer Palmieri, who served as director of communications in the Obama White House, wrote on Twitter that Mueller most likely requested Spicer's phone records as part of the investigation.

She said Spicer was "trying to establish that reporters contact him unsolicited in case he is accused of leaks."
