Bus driver saves the life of a 10-year-old boy who was found at the side of the road after becoming lost five miles from his home in subzero temperatures

A bus driver from Montana is being hailed a hero after he undoubtedly saved the life of a 10-year-old boy whom he found shivering by the side of the road. 

Dash cam video shows driver Brandon Weathers on his route on the evening of December 30 when he noticed a young boy wearing just a sweatshirt in subzero temperatures standing on the sidewalk.

The boy was waving and calling for help so Weathers pulled over and immediately took the boy on board his bus.

Weathers had only been driving with the MCTS for a couple of weeks but his training taught him to be aware of his surroundings

Brandon Weathers was driving on a bitterly cold night when he saw a boy yelling for help. He immediately pulled over to help the youngster and called for assistance

'I need you to help me,' the boy can be heard saying. 

The youngster then stared to cry and begged for the driver to call him mom.   

Weathers called the police and bus security staff as another passenger tried to comfort the boy who was shivering from the cold.

The youngster was looked after by a fellow passenger on the bus until police arrived to help

Cops eventually arrived and were able to see that the boy was reunited with his family

Police were able to reunite the boy with his family who was more than five miles away from where the boy was found. 

Weathers had only been a bus driver for just two months but recalled his training that told him to 'be aware of his surroundings'. 

The Milwaukee County Transit System says Weathers will likely receive a commendation for his actions.
