UPDATE: Davenport Police arrest suspect in overnight shots fired calls

UPDATE 8/18/18:

Davenport Police arrested 21-year-old Matthew Lee Karr in connection with the shots fired calls.

According to police documents, Karr admitted to carrying a Taurus TCP .380 pistol without a valid permit. Karr admitted he fired the weapon four times at a dark-colored Nissan. He says the occupants of the car fired at him first.

Karr left the scene and went to a residence in the 1800 block of W. 7th Street. After a consented search, police found the "Taurus

TCP .380 pistol and a Bersa Thunder .380, as well as 2 bags of Marijuana weighing 58 grams, total packaged weight."

Documents show Karr admitted all of the items found were his. He is facing five charges including going armed with intent, carrying weapons, controlled substance violation, failure to affix drug stamp, and reckless use of a firearm.

UPDATE 8/18/18:

Davenport Police spent the overnight hours Friday, Aug. 17, into Saturday, Aug. 18, investigating several shots fired calls.

The first call came in around 11:59 p.m. Friday. Police were called to the 900 block of West 15th street. They found shell casings on Vine Street just north of 15th. There was no report of injuries or damage.

Police were then called to the 5300 block of Division Street for another report of gunfire around 3:31 a.m., Saturday. There, police found shell casings in the street and damage to a home.

Just a short time, later around 3:46 a.m., police were called to the 600 block of Division Street for another report of shots fired. Shell casings were found in the street. No damage or injuries were reported.

ORIGINAL, 8/18/18:

Davenport Police were called to Division Street near 5th Street for reports of gunfire early Saturday morning.

According to police on the scene, casings were found. No injuries or damage has been reported.
