McLeod Health breaks ground on $56M South Carolina hospital

Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health broke ground on a $56 million hospital at its McLeod Health Carolina Forest Campus on April 22 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The four-story, 48-bed hospital is expected to take two years to complete and open in 2026, according to an April 22 McLeod Health news release.

As the first hospital built in the county since McLeod Health Seacoast opened in 2011 in Little River, S.C., the facility will comprise a range of medical capabilities, operating suites, laboratory services and diagnostic imaging.

McLeod Health is a nonprofit health system with more than 900 medical staff, over 2,900 nurses, and about 15,000 employees, according to its website.
