Former US President Barack Obama has called the Trump administration's targeting of Harvard University, which was among the universities that witnessed student protests in solidarity with Palestine, "illegal".
In a post on the "X" platform, on Tuesday, Obama supported the university administration, which is facing the Trump administration's threats and demands against freedom of expression.
The former president noted that the Harvard administration rejected the illegal attempt to curb academic freedom, and expressed his hope that all universities will follow Harvard's example.
The Trump administration has threatened to freeze federal funding for several universities, including Harvard, citing protests in solidarity with Palestinians on campus.
