A zealous evangelist who helped an "ex-lesbian" kidnap her daughter with her former partner claimed the only reason he's in prison is because he's a "political enemy" of former President Barack Obama.

LGBTQ nation reported that Philip Zodhiates explained his conspiracy theory about why he's behind bars during a radio show hosted by a former hate group leader.

Virginia's WSVA news station reported that Zodhiates was sentenced earlier this year to three years in prison after helping Lisa Miller kidnap Isabella, her then-seven-year-old daughter, in 2009. He did so by driving the woman and child to the Canadian border, where they caught a flight.

Miller took Isabella to Nicaragua amid a custody battle with her former partner Janet Jenkins so the child could escape "the homosexual lifestyle," LGBTQ Nation reported.

The evangelical anti-gay crusader went on a radio show hosted by Bryan Fischer, formerly a member of the SPLC-designated hate group American Family Association, earlier in the week and discussed his theory as to why he was imprisoned.

Zodhiates, the report noted, believes his sentence "emanated from circles close to the president and the White House" because his direct mail company sent "over 100 million pieces of mail exposing [Obama’s] illegitimacy in terms of being president."

"It was definitely collusion between the White House, the Department of Justice, and the pro-homosexual radical groups,” he said, adding that he is a "victim" of Obama's censorship.

When the host asked if Zodhiates had help from "religious liberty" groups, he responded that none would take his case up.

Zodhiates, the report noted, was found guilty of international parental kidnapping and conspiracy.
