Stow, Ohio-based ShotStop Ballistics Donates Lightest, Thinnest Rifle Plates to Stow-Munroe Falls High School and Kimpton Middle School Resource Officers

They put it on the line each and every day to secure our staff and our students. It’s a wonderful opportunity to make them safer.”
— Superintendent Tom Bratton
STOW, OHIO, USA, June 26, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- With school safety on the minds of many these days, it’s great to get some good news for a change. ShotStop® Ballistics, based in Stow, Ohio, recently donated two sets of bulletproof body armor plates to the School Resource Officers at Stow-Munroe Falls High School and Kimpton Middle School.

On Tuesday, May 29, representatives from Stow-Munroe Falls City School District, Stow Police Department, and Munroe Falls Police Department met with ShotStop Ballistics at the high school to receive the body armor plates.

ShotStop donated its top-of-the-line bulletproof inserts, which weigh nearly half of what the Resource Officers had before. The Duritium® III+PA plates are rated Level III with the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), which means they will withstand impact from high-powered rifles, like the AR-15 used in many school shootings in recent years. And, with a weight of around three pounds and about half an inch thick, they are also far less bulky than the previous ceramic plates worn by the Officers.

“They put it on the line each and every day to secure our staff and our students,” said Superintendent Tom Bratton. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to make them safer.”

Some of the employees at ShotStop have children in the Stow-Munroe Falls school system, and because the company is based in Stow it was happy to help.

“We have supported this community for as long as we’ve been here,” said Vall Iliev, founder of ShotStop Ballistics. “These guys are here to protect us and our kids; we are here to protect them.”
